John Denver - Johnny B. Goode (John Denver)

This song was first released on the John Denver album. It is the only album it has been released on.

Way down in Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin mad of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy name of Johnny B. Goode
He never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell

Go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go Johnny B. Goode

He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
The engineers would see him sittin' in the shade
Strummin' to the rhythm that the drivers made
People passing by would they would stop and say
Oh my but that little country boy can play

Go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny B. Goode

Well his mama told him some day you will be a man
You will be the leader of a big old band
Many people comin' from miles around
Just to hear you play your music till the sun go down
Maybe some day your name will be in lights
Sayin' Johnny B. Goode tonight

Go, go, go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go, go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny go
Go, go Johnny B. Goode

John Denver (with his band) guest hosting The Tonight Show - Johnny B Goode and Ripplin' Waters (04:15)
John Denver, once again guest host, delivers this two-song set on another edition of Johnny Carson's
Tonight Show in the late 1970s. The performance begins with a new song 'Johnny B. Goode' (from the
JD album of 1979) before John introduces the members of his band, and concludes with 'Ripplin'
Waters' from the 'I Want to Live' album of 1977. Unfortunately, the video quality is not as good as
we would like.

fastkort94, Your stupid ass class teacher, I'm afraid is heading for failure. She/he may find you especially to be incongrious to the idea of love. Love that is not synonymous with sex, love that is tempered with emotion and intellect. Love that conquers sacrifices and pains, amends shortcomings and becalms worries and uncertainties.

John was like an angel. He played for us one evening, sitting in the chair, playing his heart out for us--Can't describe how happy he was--so content, so at peace with himself and with others. Maybe he really was an Angel. Thanks for posting.
